Mike Bishop from JLR Classic talks about "A Boat Race On Wheels" (BACK IN STOCK NOW!)

Many of you have already been getting stuck into this amazing tale of six Oxford and Cambridge students and their two 86" Land Rovers in which they successfully drove from London to Cape Town in the Summer of 1954. These books have been wildly popular, so popular in fact that we are struggling to keep enough in stock to keep you all satisfied! Luckily these are back in stock today, including the paperback, and a new, very limited run, hardcover version.

Get them while you can!

In this video, Mike Bishop From Jaguar Land Rover Classic UK talks about the history of  "A boat race on wheels" and his work with JLR Classic UK. If you already have the book and can't get enough of this incredible story, this video might help scratch that itch with some more pictures, videos and stories surrounding this amazing expedition and the people involved.
If you haven't managed to get your hands on a copy yet, you really are missing out on a fascinating piece of Land Rover history.
Maybe this will help persuade you!

As a little bonus for you, we have some pictures from when Charles' was lucky enough to get up close and personal with one of the these vehicles after it had a been exquisitely restored by Adam Bennett

(a standard of work that he is certainly no stranger to).

"A beautifully warm August evening, the perfect setting for a drive over the Yorkshire Moors with Adam. It was a special privilege to have run in such a beautifully restored and historically significant Land Rover.
(It is also rather fun to try and spot all the parts we supplied during the build!)"
Charles - Managing Director - Emberton Imperial

Charles' afternoon with this vehicle gets brought up (understandably) whenever the opportunity presents itself. While recounting his experience, You can see in his smile how significant a chance to get hands on with this iconic vehicle was.
A memory that won't soon be forgotten!
